Let us introduce you to a few of these beautiful & talented Northwest Mermaids:
MerLissa Melite, Native to Ontario Canada, has been found in the Pacific Northwest!
River Nymph MerLissa Melité has been spotted by lucky mermaid seekers in a wide range of Mer-favored spots, from delicious Northwest hot springs, the Oregon coast, and the waters of the Little North Santiam, to the sunny beaches of Maui, and even in some of Portland’s rare outdoor pools. She braves cool river temperatures and chill Pacific Ocean waters to enjoy the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. MerLissa is known for her alluring eyes and playful energy. Her Nymph nature was first suspected when, as a child, she would enjoy having tea parties at the bottom of her Grandmama’s pool, pretending to live underwater.
Melité is named for the Nymph who lived in the secret gardens and nectar pools of magical Mount Nysa, and who nursed the Divine baby Dionysus with honey from her fingertips, Under her care, the Beautiful Babe spent his golden childhood, safe from the dangers of the outside world. As a nurturing mother of three herself, MerLissa Melité resonates well with this mythical story.
MerLissa Melité believes that showing herself in mermaid form reminds people to have a little fun, and to dive into their own dreams—even if it’s just for a day or a weekend. She also feels that a mermaid, weaving her Siren wiles, can help educate people and personalize the importance of keeping the Earth’s waters clean—not only for Nymphs and other Mer-beings, but also for human beings, large and small, and for all the other water creatures who depend on the life-giving waters of our blue and beautiful planet.
Finally, if anything gets her down—or the weight of the world starts to make her sink to unbearable depths—MerLissa knows she just needs the flick of her mermaid tail to propel her to the surface once more! ;)
To her, this is more of a personal endeavor, but MerLissa is also available for hire, and attending various events. Contact MerLissa Melite via facebook http://www.facebook.com/lissa.melite for questions or inquiry.

and those who matter don't mind."

Hi, I am Her Royale Hinie, (AKA Karen Vogt), self proclaimed Pirate Queen. I have been a member of the Pirate Community for several years. I am a member of the Pirates of Portlandia and one of the founders of the Ragtag Rogue Raiders.
I have been involved in several projects with The MacKay Pirate Family. I danced in the "Pirate Party Rock" video. Marched in the Starlight Parade. I am part of the Mutiny Magaine (issue 2) Authentic Female Pirate photo shoot, coming out in late Aug.
After seeing how much fun Rebbeca and Sandy had as mermaids, I couldn't resist donning a tail and joining the NW Mermaid Pod! My mermaid Mersula, made her debut in Ocean Shores at the Wine and Wearable Art Fashion show. Mersula is a dethroned Mermaid Queen who is a bit on the naughty side. But she loves to dance. She has a pet Octopus named Milty.
I love being a part of the Pirate/Mermaid community. For me is is a Family affair. I have recruited my husband Jeffrey Blackheart, my daughter Erin, and all five of my grandkids. As they say the family that plays together, stays together. We just had a successful day at "Relay for Life" where the Mermaids and Pirates played games and took pictures with kids . Next up is a Swim party, Booty for Boobies and a Halloween Pirate Carnival.
I love how welcoming everyone is and that we can all be ourselves, no matter our age, shape, or size. The best part is that I get to play "Dress-up" everyday!!
(Note: in everyday life I work for the Gresham OR, School Dist in Nutrition Services.)
